For the fourth year in a row my ‘Royal Sunset’ Longiflorum-Asiatic lilies are putting on a fantastic show. I planted the bulbs in the fall of 2012.
The flowers are medium-pink with an orangey-melon center that’s speckled with dark-red freckles. I have bulbs planted in 3 different flowerbeds and even the ones growing in part-shade never fail to put on an impressive display.
‘Royal Sunset’ grows 2.5 to 4 feet tall, and the flowers bloom for several weeks beginning in late June.
Because they flowers are up-facing they would make great cut flowers for arrangements. I’ve never cut any of mine because I love how they light up my flowerbeds.
‘Royal Sunset’ is hardy in Zones 3-10.
