When I place my flower seed orders each winter there’s never a guarantee that my old standbys are still going to be available. That’s why I’m always relieved when I can still get my hands on some ‘Dreamland Coral’ seeds.
The flowers on these diminutive zinnias are gorgeous and large. They can appear dark-coral, tangerine or even coral-orange.
The bushy plants grow only 12-14 inches tall and they don’t not have any pest or disease issues (although like any zinnias, powdery mildew is a possibility during particularly wet, humid summers). The plants will bloom all summer and well into fall—especially if you keep them deadheaded.
You can plant ‘Dreamland Coral’ with other warm colors like red or yellows, but I like to pair the flowers with dark purple salvias or purple asters so they really stand out.
