A Finely-Aged Cheese, er Daylily

After seven growing seasons, my ‘Cheddar Weasel’ daylily is still happily thriving. This cultivar was hybridized in Wisconsin to withstand harsh winters, and my plant has shrugged off many such winters so far including the infamous Polar Vortex.

This daylily has a maroon eye and the petals look salmony-orange or even dark gold depending on the available light.

‘Cheddar Weasel’ is small, but its flashy flowers really stand out in the front row of a flower bed. This daylily grows 18 inches tall with 3.5-inch flowers.

‘Cheddar Weasel’ is a dormant daylily that was registered in 2004.
