I was surprised again this spring by several self-seeded ‘Winky Red and White’ columbines.
I purchased my original ‘Winky Red and White’ in 2011, but it’s long since disappeared, and I don’t even remember where I originally planted it.
Every spring a few self-seeded volunteers come up in a polite clump in the front yard flowerbed and bloom for several weeks in May.
‘Winky Red and White’ grows 14 to 18 inches tall in full sun or partial shade, and the plants are resistant to deer and rabbits.
