I’ve picked up many seed-starting tips and tricks over the years. At some point I remember reading that once seedlings sprout you should remove them out from under those clear plastic domes as quickly as possible. I read that advice so long ago that I don’t even remember the reasoning behind it anymore, but I assume the plants could get too wet and rot.
However, when I sprouted my first seeds last month I left the little plants under those domes for weeks out of sheer laziness—less watering for me!
That laziness has sure paid off. For the first time in 20 years I got 100% germination from my rudbeckia plants!
