When I test out a new annual cultivar I tuck a few plants in here and there around my yard, but I don’t go all crazy in case the plants are duds.
I wish I’d made an exception for the latest Zahara zinnia because it’s a beauty. I don’t usually get excited about orange flowers, but ‘Zahara Double Bright Orange’ is a winner.
I had seen it growing in a test garden last year and the number of blooms was quiet impressive on each plant, but I saw those flowers on a cloudy day.
What I didn’t know is that they really glow in the sunshine!
Like its siblings in the series this Zahara grows 12 to 18 inches tall and blooms all summer into fall if you keep it deadheaded.
