‘Sun Cherry’ is an older zinnia cultivar with big double blooms in medium pink that fade to a paler pink. The cultivar is around 20 years old now, so the seeds can be purchased for just a few bucks.
This year my plants are bushy and full of flowers—even in my part-sun growing conditions. There used to be a ‘Sun Red’ that was readily available, but for the last couple of years I haven’t been able to find seeds for sale anywhere.
I hope they don’t discontinue this zinnia because it grows 24 to 30 inches tall and is perfect for the middle of my annual beds.
