‘Double Delicious’ is lovely smaller-statured amaryllis with true red double flowers that appear on stems 18 to 22 inches high. My phone and my camera both have trouble capturing the screaming-red color without going out of focus. These blooms shine like gems in the sunshine.
My first stem topped out at 14 inches tall with 4 flowers, but there’s a second stem that hasn’t opened yet that is already climbing above those flowers.
Some sellers say this cultivar makes a spectacular showing when you plant 3 bulbs in the same pot. I just might try that next year.
