I love stipples and speckles so I had to try Amaryllis ‘Flamenco Queen’.
This cultivar is described as having white flowers streaked with white, but my flowers are heavier on the red so I would say they are cherry-red speckled with white. Tomato, tomahto. What we can agree on is that the flowers are stunning.
My plant’s first stem topped out at 28 inches with 5 flowers that opened all at once. The second stem followed in about 2 weeks. That one also has 5 flowers, and I think it’s now the tallest amaryllis stalk I’ve ever grown at 38 inches.
I’m glad I switched from plastic to clay pots this year or this one probably would’ve toppled over. The flowers are gorgeous and I would definitely grow this cultivar again.
