Last winter amaryllis ‘Christmas Gift’ bloomed for me in late January which I found a bit odd given its name. But I tried this cultivar again this year and sure enough, it bloomed just in time for Christmas this year!
When picking out amaryllis bulbs, white always seems like a boring choice, but I’m glad I added at least one white cultivar to the menu. I don’t normally grow this many bulbs, but in a pandemic one should be allowed to behave a little impulsively. All of these lovely blooms have been a major mood lifter.
‘Christmas Gift’ grew 22 inches for me with three, 8-inch flowers. A second stalk is shooting up fast.
