If you recall, I had a mystery amaryllis called ‘Rozetta’ that was supposed to be pink but instead ended up looking like ‘Dancing Queen’ when it bloomed. I figured I had made a labeling mistake.
But now the bulb labeled ‘Dancing Queen’ is blooming (and at 14 inches like the other bulb) but that one does indeed look like ‘Dancing Queen’. So maybe the seller shipped me two of the same bulbs and just mislabeled one of them?
The second stalk from ‘not-Rozetta-probably-Dancing-Queen’ has topped out at 20 inches. The one accurately labeled ‘Dancing Queen’ has four flowers on it, and the bulb is apparently only going to send up that one flower stalk.
The red-and-white-striped, 7-inch flowers are whimsical and last a long time.
