Until I forced several different hyacinth cultivars side-by-side, I never noticed before that they differ in scent. I think ‘Delft Blue’ is my favorite so far. It’s difficult to describe flower scents much less compare similar ones, but I’ll just say it has a sweeter, grape-like tone to it.
‘Delft Blue’ grows 8 to 12 inches tall with gorgeous, lilac-blue flowers.
Outside the plants prefer full to part sun and they bloom in April. ‘Delft Blue’ is hardy in Zones 4-8.
