I grow several different kinds of alliums and all of them are blooming right now including ‘Purple Sensation’:
And Allium christophii:
And whatever overachieving allium this big boy is about to be:
Last fall I purchased some Allium ‘Ambassador’ bulbs. I planted them throughout the yard, and even the ones growing in part-shade are doing well and standing up straight.
The flowers are the same shade of purple as ‘Sensation’ but they look like they are having a bad hair day.
Allium ‘Sensation’ grows 24 to 30 inches tall and is hardy in Zones 4-8. The flowers that bloom in May and June attract pollinators, and the bulbs are resistant to rodents and rabbits.
