The Japanese beetles that DID show up this summer were no match for my Marvel II Orange marigolds. The petal are very tightly-packed which makes it more difficult for the beetles to burrow in and have a snack.
Marvel II marigolds grow 16 to 18 inches tall with bushy foliage that grows 10-12 inches wide.
Like other marigolds, they prefer full sun but will tolerate part-sun.
I started my plants from seed about 5 weeks before our last frost date. Other than deadheading the spent blooms, they’ve needed absolutely no care from me all summer.
