There are still plenty of annuals going strong in my backyard flowerbeds, and I’m still seeing hummingbirds daily. While it would be more convenient to clean up the garden for winter so things are ready right away next spring, I just don’t have the heart to remove a food source for the hummers when they are migrating.
And it’s been so warm these last few weeks that many of my perennials are having their 3rd flush of blooms for the season, and the bees are very happy about that!
