Tulip ‘Scarlet Baby’

One of the tulips I forced last fall that’s putting on a little show in my windowsill right now is ‘Scarlet Baby’.

This Kaufmanniana grows 5 to 8 inches tall with bright red star-shaped flowers. In the center of the petals is a perfectly round golden eye.

The flowers close in the evening and open up again the following morning.

I potted up my bulbs in mid-November and brought them out of the refrigerator at the end of February.
