I had good luck growing Dahlia ‘Figaro’ last summer, so I tried again this year, and I’m getting a nice variety of colors from this mix.
‘Figaro’ grows 14 to 18 inches tall—perfect for the first or second row of a flowerbed.
Last year I grew some nursery plant dahlias in a barrel, and some of the plants got powdery mildew and others just pooped out in the middle of the summer even though I was regularly fertilizing them. I haven’t had any of those problems with ‘Figaro’.
So far this wine-red is my favorite color this season:
These little beauties will bloom all summer until frost of you keep them deadheaded.
