One of my daylilies got lost in the shuffle when a few years ago I dug up many daylilies that weren’t getting enough sun and switched them with some astilbes that were getting too much sun.
I haven’t seen ‘Jane Trimmer’ bloom in a few years now, so I was quite tickled when this flower greeted me one warm summer morning.
‘Jane Trimmer’ was registered in 2002 and has won several American Hemerocallis Society awards including an Honorable Mention award in 2005 and an Honor of Merit award in 2008 which is for daylilies that have “outstanding beauty and performance over a wide area of the country.”
‘Jane Trimmer’ grows 25 inches tall with 5-inch pale lavender flowers that have a “black-purple” eye.
My husband recently helped me dig up and divide 60 of my daylilies, and then I also transplanted divisions to different locations to make room for some new daylilies I purchased in August. I made sure ‘Jane Trimmer’ got one of the sunniest spots in my yard, so I expect big things from my plant in the next few years.
