Doing It The Hard Way

I was woefully lax in taking notes on my annuals this summer. Now, in order to figure out what I should sprout from seed this winter, my punishment is that I must pore over hundreds of photographs to help me remember what I liked and didn’t like.

One plant that really impressed me was rudbeckia ‘Rustic Colors’. I’ve grown it off and on for quite a few years and quite frankly it’s never really excited me. This year my plants were very healthy and I got some lovely colors.

‘Rustic Colors’ is a mix that comes in shades of gold, mahagony, bronze, orange and yellow. It’s a good middle-of-the-border plant that grows 18 to 24 inches tall.
