In 2021 I planted what I had hoped would be a ‘Celebrity’ Peony, but after giving the new plant several years to get established in my perennial border, it’s time to declare this a mystery peony.
The flowers only slightly resemble ‘Celebrity’, but the telltale hint is that the flowers are supposed to be fragrant, and these flowers have no scent that I can detect.
Thankfully the flowers on this mystery peony stand out nicely from a distance, and it’s one of the first peonies in my yard to bloom each spring.
