I planted several new Orienpet lily bulbs last fall even though I knew the lily leaf beetles would probably arrive in our area this growing season if not next. Arrive they did, but before the larvae could cause too much destruction, I’m glad I got to see the lovely ”Touchstone’ in bloom.
This lily has gorgeous raspberry-red up-facing flowers that have a few freckles sprinkled at their center.
‘Touchstone’ grows 4 feet tall in sun or partial-shade. The flowers darken a bit as they age and they have a lovely fragrance.
Orienpet lilies grow on tough, sturdy stalks, and they tend to grow taller each year. ‘Touchstone’ is hardy in Zones 4-9.
