Daylily ‘Forty Fourth Parallel’ is a great middle-of-the-border plant because its scapes reach 32 inches tall.

The the 6-inch lavender flowers have a royal purple eye and edge that contrasts with a yellow throat.

One of the parents of this daylily is the lovely ‘Inquire Within’ which I’ve grown now for 15 years. It reaches 34 inches tall with 5-inch blooms:

Because our growing season was ahead of schedule this year, ‘Forty Fourth Parallel’ started blooming for me already in late June.

‘Forty Fourth Parallel’ is a hardy, dormant daylily. The flowers have a lovely fragrance.
