Several new daylilies bloomed in my garden this year, but two quickly became favorites. When I saw ‘Which Way Jim’ at a daylily farm last year it was late in the afternoon on a beastly hot day and the blossoms were a little faded. I could still see the potential in the plant so I purchased it. I’m glad I did because I absolutely love the smoky purple color. ‘Which Way Jim’ grows 26 inches tall with 5.5-inch blooms.
My other favorite is ‘Canadian Blues.’ Hybridizers are working on it, but there is still no such thing as a blue daylily. ‘Canadian Blues’ has hints of blue in its eyezone set against pretty lavender-pink blooms. The plant grows 25 inches tall with 4.25-inch flowers.
