Daylily ‘Backseat Debutante’

I spotted ‘Backseat Debutante’ at a daylily sale last year and it was this cultivar’s height that drew me in.

The scapes reach 39 inches.

This is an “unusual form crispate” daylily which describes the shape of the petals. Crispates have pinched, twisted or quilled floral segments.

‘Backseat Debutante’ is apricot-pink with a wide yellow-green throat that has a light watermark. Those flowers are 9 inches across.

This was the first year ‘Backseat Debutante’ bloomed in my yard. The flowers first showed up in mid-July.

This semi-evergreen daylily was registered in 2008.
