The Gold Standard

When it comes to daylily colors, gold is probably my least favorite, but ‘Fooled Me’ still wormed its way into my gardening heart. This Stout Silver Medal winner (2005) grows 24 inches tall with 6-inch golden yellow flowers and a deep, red eyezone.

I love how the petals are also edged in red:

My poor plant has been moved a half-dozen times but it doesn’t get resentful like other daylilies. I can count on it for weeks of sunny blooms no matter where I plant it.

Hi Em,
I also have “Fooled Me” and love the color and size of the blooms. Looking forward to this coming summer and being able to enjoy all the daylilies and other flowers again. Right now, I’m content with my two poinsettias—the white one and now a nice big red one. Brightens up the house!!

I’m sorting through my garden photos right now, and it’s such a pick-me-up to know they’re all hiding out there under the snow waiting to dazzle us again!
