I purchased daylily ‘Potosi’ based on a photograph and the rave reviews of a group of daylily enthusiasts who squealed with delight when I mentioned its name.
When ‘Potosi’ bloomed last summer in my garden it was every bit as gorgeous as I’d hoped. The flowers are golden-yellow, but when you look at them closely you can see flashes of orange or coral trying reach the surface of ‘Potosi’s’ diamond-dusted petals.
‘Potosi is a dormant daylily that blooms mid-season on 30-inch scapes. It looks fantastic with other warm colors like orange or red, but it really contrasts beautifully with darker colors in the garden like purple or maroon.
