The flowers might not be as big as some of the other amaryllis cultivars, but ‘Picasso’ is a stunner. This amaryllis grows about 20 inches tall with 5-inch flowers.
Those flowers are pure white with a crimson-red edge, and the petals also showcase a smattering of red sprinkles.
My bulb sent up 2 scapes timely nicely apart so the flowers won’t all bloom at once. The first scape has 5 flowers on it.
Usually my bulbs grow several inches shorter than the cultivar’s recommended height (maybe because they grow in a bay window that gets chilly on winter nights?), but ‘Picasso’ did indeed top out at 20 inches tall for me.
