I only grow a handful of small-flowered daylilies because I’m so in love with the big bright ones, but there are few that I like to have around for the front of the perennial border. ‘Alpine Mist’ is a pretty little conversation piece:
The flowers are lavender with a blue-lavender eyezone and bright, yellow-green throat. The flower color changes a bit depending on whether they are blooming in the sun or in partial-shade.
‘Alpine Mist’ sends up 18-inch scapes with 3-inch flowers.
This hardy, dormant daylily blooms in the middle of the daylily season.
