When I saw the color of this amaryllis, it was love at first sight. This is the aptly-named ‘Desire’:
The flowers are a gorgeous shade of coral. They bring a little taste of Florida or maybe the Caribbean to an otherwise dreary winter. ‘Desire’ grows 20 to 24 inches tall with 6-inch flowers. Mine is topping out at 20 inches.
Initially my plant only sent up one scape with 3 flowers on it, but now there is a second scape peeking out from the bulb. I’m going to savor every minute of these dazzling flowers.
