I’m growing a new shasta daisy this year (Leucanthemum superbum) called ‘Freak’. The plants are very compact, but they pack a lot of punch in a little package. This is a pretty good display for a plant that has only been in my garden for 4 weeks:
‘Freak’ grows only 12 inches tall with frilly white flowers that have a golden-yellow center.
‘Freak’ is drought-tolerant and disease-resistant. My plant just started blooming, so I don’t yet know how many weeks of flowering I can expect, but so far I’m impressed.
‘Freak’ is a perennial that’s hardy in Zones 4-8.
