El Niño Strikes Again

We had a green Christmas this year—really green. Some of the lawns haven’t looked this bright-green and healthy since last spring. The temperature hit a ridculously-high 55 degrees on December 23rd, and the dewpoint got into the mid-50s so the air was very moist. It felt like early April outside. Of course this just confused my daffodils even further.

A storm is hitting us today that could bring a mixture of freezing rain, sleet and snow. It will be accompanied by wind gusts as high as 45 or 50 mph. That should gave those daffodils a wake-up (or go back to sleep) call. This is only our second winter-type storm of the entire season so far.
