Echinacea ‘Double Scoop Cranberry’

‘Double Scoop Cranberry’ is a coneflower with rich, berry-colored double blooms:

Double Scoop Cranberry 2016 (3) (Small)

The flowers have single petals when they first open. Over time those first petals recurve and the center of the flower gets thicker and thicker as more tiny petals pop out.

‘Double Scoop Cranberry’ grows about two feet tall in full sun or partial-shade. The dark-pink color is really noticeable from across the yard. Next year I’m going to plant something purple next to this cultivar (like a balloon flower or a veronica or geranium ‘Rozanne’). Those colors should look stunning together.

Even as they age, the flowers on this long-blooming plant hold their color remarkably well.

This funky coneflower has an upright habit and is hardy in Zones 4-9
