My favorite achillea (yarrow) is blooming in the front yard once again. I had to move ‘Angelique’ to the backyard during the construction of our front yard retaining wall two years ago. I was so impressed with how it looked next to my daylilies that I decided to let it stay in the backyard permanently.
This spring my husband and I created a huge flowerbed in the front yard above the retaining wall and it was great fun to fill it with plants. One of the first I purchased was ‘Angelique’.
I’ve had problems with other achilleas flopping all over the place (except ‘Coronation Gold’ which stays in a bushy clump), but ‘Angelique’ behaves itself.
There are very few red-flowering perennials to choose from, so it’s fun to have ‘Angelique’ to add a little “pop” to my flowerbeds.
