Oriental Lily ‘Cherry Splash’

My obsession with Orienpet lilies has gotten a little out of control over the last couple of years, but there’s still a special place in my heart for the old-fashioned, sweetly-scented Oriental lilies.

Last summer I tried a newer cultivar called ‘Cherry Splash’. Staring into the flowers reminds me of a freckle-faced kid:

‘Cherry Splash’ grows 3 to 4 feet tall in sun or partial-shade.

The flowers give off an absolutely dreamy scent that can be detected from as much as 10 feet away on a humid day.

In areas with steamy summer temperatures, ‘Cherry Splash’ may fade, so plant this beauty where it will receive some afternoon shade.

‘Cherry Splash’ is hardy in Zones 5-9.
