Orienpet ‘Julie Fowlis’

The flowers of some Orienpet lilies change over the years as the plants mature.

Last summer was the first time I grew ‘Julie Fowlis’ (named for a famous Scottish folk singer). The flowers were a bit smaller and darker than what I was expecting, but still pretty.

Like other Orienpets my bulbs sent up sturdy stems bursting with fragrant flowers.

‘Julie Fowlis’ grows 3 to 4 feet tall and blooms later in July. The bulbs are hardy in Zones 5-9.

I’m looking forward to finding out if this lily’s flowers will look any different when they bloom again later this summer.
