Last fall a skunk or raccoon tried to dig up the little batch of tulips that has been blooming every spring for several decades under our dryer vent. They were planted before we even moved into this house.
I had to eventually put some heavy rocks over that area until the beasts gave up. I removed the rocks after our first hard freeze late last fall.
I must’ve saved them from doom because they’ve reappeared for yet another spring!
