When cleaning up the flowerbeds last weekend I got a whiff of the sweet scent of goldenrod (Solidago) ‘Wichita Mountains.’
The bees appreciate this very-late-blooming perennial—it’s usually the last to bloom in my garden for the year.
The plants grow 24 to 36 inches tall and 18 to 30 inches wide. They are drought-resistant, deer-resistant and appreciate average, well-drained soil in full sun.
‘Wichita Mountains’ is hardy in Zones 4-8.
