Winter arrived with a vengeance over the weekend. We got about 7 inches of snow on our side of the city and it was extremely heavy and wet. Many evergreens split or cracked or lost branches because they couldn’t handle the weight.
And I don’t ever remember seeing my hanging feeders look like this after any snow event—not even a blizzard.
When I opened the shades the birds were fluttering around trying to find the perches.
It looks a lot more Christmas-y around here now, but the streets (other than this one—the only pavement we saw on our entire jaunt!) still have many icy patches on them.
Now we’re in a temporary cold snap. The low was 10 last night and even the snowmen are freezing.
