Amaryllis ‘Gervase’ is a stunner. The flowers aren’t as big as some of the other cultivars (5 inches), but each one is different. Where the pink streaks end up on each flower is random, so it’s a fun little surprise.
‘Gervase’ sent up two 24-inch scapes one right after the other. The first one is blooming with 4 flowers, and the flower cluster is just about to open on the second scape.
My first amaryllis (‘Sweet Star’) opened during the week of Thanksgiving. ‘Gervase’ waited another 8 weeks, so if you want to spread out the amaryllis blooming season, this is a good late-blooming cultivar to add to your collection.
