My amaryllis ‘Flamenco Queen’ is blooming and I’m still just as impressed as I was when I grew it for the first time last year. The dark-red color with the contrasting lime-green throat is gorgeous. And then add on those sprinkles and stippled petals.
This is one of the taller cultivars you can grow, and I love that the scapes grow nice and straight. I rarely have to rotate the pot in my sunny window.
My bulb sent up only one scape so far, but it’s 28 inches tall.
If you pot up more than one amaryllis bulb you can grow this one and a shorter one and you’ll have a nice two-tiered flower display.
