H is for Hollyhock

Join me as I take a trip through the alphabet from A to Z and showcase some of my favorite plants that I’ve grown in my flowerbeds over the last 30 years!

This is Hollyhock ‘Summer Carnival’. Technically this plant is a biennial, but you can treat it like an annual—it will bloom from seed the first year. The official plant height is 5 to 6 feet, but I’ve had plants reach 10 or more feet, and I don’t even have full-sun conditions. The flowers come in shades of red, pink and white.
