Amaryllis ‘Lion King’ is a single Dutch amaryllis that grows 22 to 24 inches tall.
The 5-inch flowers are a very dark red with darker, reddish-purple veins, and they are slightly upfacing and curved.
The first scape from my bulb topped out at 17 inches with 4 flowers. A second scape just appeared from the base of the bulb.
I love the deep, rich-red color of this cultivar, but I’m a little underwhelmed by the size and number of flowers. But I’ll reserve final judgement until the flowers open on the second scape in a week or so.
