I can enthusiastically add ‘Opera Supreme Light Blue’ to my list of winning petunias. I’ve already raved about ‘Opera Supreme Pink Morn’ and some of its siblings in shades of purple, white and lilac. I tried the light blue color this year and it has quickly become my favorite.
‘Opera Supreme Light Blue’ has all the same characteristics of the other petunias in the Opera series which bloom early and profusely and never need deadheading or shearing. The plants grow 6-10 inches tall but spread 2 or 3 feet.
The flowers look especially fetching with pink, dark-purple or blue flowers. Next year I may just plant some next to some short red zinnias for a striking contrast between warm and cool colors.
