Flower Ideas: Show Me…Something Red

Tulip ‘Come Back’ is a Darwin tulip that grows 16 to 18 inches tall with bright-red flowers. ‘Come Back’ is hardy in Zones 3-9, and yes, the flowers really do come back each spring:

‘Sonnet Crimson’ is a mid-sized snapdragon that grows 24 inches tall with crimson flowers. Bumblebees find them irresistible. ‘Sonnet Crimson’ will bloom throughout the summer if you deadhead the flowers, but if the daily temperatures get too hot, the plants may “rest” for a time before they resume blooming.

Daylily ‘Indy Rhapsody’ has dark, rose-red, ruffled blooms. The sepals have a little white edge. ‘Indy Rhapsody’ is eye-catching in the front row of a perennial bed where it grows 19 inches tall with 5-inch flowers:
