Daylily ‘Mary’s Gold’ has been growing in my backyard for almost 2 decades now.

Whoop-de-dooo, another gold daylily, right? Well first, this cultivar has HUGE flowers. When those bright blooms start appearing, they definitely command attention in a flowerbed.
Second, this daylily blooms later in the daylily season when many other perennials are winding down and annuals are looking tired. It’s nice to have some bold, later-season color in the garden.

‘Mary’s Gold’ has earned a lot of awards for excellence and garden performance since the cultivar was registered in 1984.

‘Mary’s Gold’ grows 34 inches tall with 6.5-inch golden-orange flowers.
Sometimes older cultivars are harder to find, but because of its outstanding garden performance, ‘Mary’s Gold’ is still available (not an affiliate link, but Oakes is a great place to buy daylilies!).
