I was so excited to find crocuses blooming in some of my flowerbeds yesterday. They wanted to celebrate the first day of spring! The forecast for this this week calls for rain, sleet and snow, but these little beauties have given me just the boost I need to muddle through another chilly week.
I’m also very impressed with my Snowdrops (Galanthus). In the last 3 weeks they have endured almost 2 inches of rain, several inches of snow and two different days with wind gusts of 40-50 mph and they are still blooming. I will be planting more of these tough flowers around my yard next fall. As a bonus, the rodents aren’t the least bit interested in them.
