Mother nature got us good on Saturday. At first it was just tiny flakes of snow spinning around in the brisk winds. The forecast included “rain showers mixed with snow”, so I figured the tiny flakes were all we would see.
But those snowflakes got bigger and bigger until they were giant wind-whipped clumps. It looked like the start of a good ol’ fashioned blizzard for about 30 minutes. It was enough snow to coat trees and signs and grassy surfaces.
We aren’t even at peak fall color yet, and many leaves are still on the trees.
It was kind of fun to get a quick blast of winter and spin around in a snow globe for awhile—especially because it melted right away and then sun came out and it looked like fall again.
The roads weren’t slick, and no shovels or snowplows were necessary.
That’s my kind of winter.
