Two winters ago the rabbits trimmed my blueberries to the ground. Considering they were surrounded by 3-foot chickenwire at the time tells you how high the snow was that year. I didn’t know if they would recover or not, but I decided to be optimistic but cautious. I put two more feet of chickenwire over the top of the 3 foot sections.
It worked!
This summer the bushes branched out nicely, and I got a lovely little harvest out of them. I picked a handful to a cup of blueberries each day for several weeks. Pretty good for what was just a bunch of spindly sticks the year before.
