I’ve grown daylily ‘Out Back Red’ for more than a decade now. I got it as a bonus plant at a daylily sale.

The 7-inch flowers are red with a white fringe on the petals and sepals. This is an evergreen daylily that has been used to parent 26 other registered daylily cultivars.

The red flowers really stand out which is why my plant shows off in the front of a flowerbed flanked by gold rudbeckias and purple geraniums.

‘Out Back Red’ grows 28 inches tall and blooms in the middle of the daylily season.
