Hosta ‘Orange Marmalade’

I purchased Hosta ‘Orange Marmalade’ two years ago. It was growing a little too slowly for my taste, so I moved it to a new location this spring.

Originally the leaves were very yellow:

In its new home ‘Orange Marmalade’ is growing like crazy, but the leaves have lost their brilliant yellow color.

The light conditions between the two locations are nearly identical, however the soil is probably more acidic in its new spot. It will be interesting to see if the bright yellow leaves reappear over time.

‘Orange Marmalade’ grows 17 inches tall and 32 inches wide and is hardy in Zones 3-9.
